Shooterman 0
Hey all- New here, and looking to buy a Saiga .223. I can find plenty of the 16" bbl models around, but where are the 20" hiding? I'm mainly interested in this rifle as an inexpensive SHTF gun, but the increased accuracy that a longer barrel provides would not be an unwelcome feature. TIA! NOTE: Found a dealer in KY who carries this model, but lists it as 'not legal for CA.' Since when? Edited May 19, 2008 by Shooterman
azhunter12 0
Actually the longer bbl won't help accuracy it will just give the bullet a higher vilocity. If I were you I would get the 16". To anwser the question, I don't know where they are selling 20" saigas.

JK-47 33
.223's performance depends alot on velocity. Additionaly you may be able to shoot the 20" more accuratetly because of the longer sight radius.

I was just going to post the question "why a 20-inch bbl,", but you it looks like you've answered that. Thanks.

Just a guess, but probably since Gray Davis and all the other Liberals that run (ran) that state! Courtney

Just a guess, but probably since Gray Davis and all the other Liberals that run (ran) that state! Courtney I'll grant you that the gun laws here are too restrictive, but my point was the Saiga is legal in Calif. (I have one on the way). If that dealer had bothered to do his homework, he'd be selling that gun hand over fist to shooters here. He claims to have a letter from the DOJ warning him not to ship to Calif. I smell bovine excrement (and I don't mean that coming from Sacramento).
