larain60 0
Hello all, Im considering a Saiga 7.62 to standard AK type rifle. One concern is standardizing mags. Can Saiga mags (whether factory or aftermarket) be converted to fit a standard AK type rifle? If they are - Id convert the Saiga to take normal AK mags.... also convert the Saiga mag to Ak .... being able to share AK mags in both rifles. Thanks! !
taurussvt 0
You can convert the gun to accept normal AK magazines by filing down the mag catch a little and installing a bullet guide. As far as using a saiga mag in an AK goes, you're gonna have to file off the ramp on the front of the magazine that acts like a bullet guide. The thing is, the saiga mag is gonna fit a little loose in the ak. It will work though. You've just got to be careful about violating 922R by sticking that foreign made saiga mag in a rifle.
