mscottrogers 56
I've got a bunch of 12 Ga reloading suppys that have been sitting around for a number of years. Now that i'm comminted to the path of the Saiga 12, Im looking get started loading for the beast I've found very little in the way of loading data for buckshot, and none using my wad columns WAA12 or powder SR7625.Dose anyone produce a decent book with Buckshot and slug data? I've found no online source for this anywere here is some info I use. I reload 2 3/4 winchesterAA and order supplies from midway. If you have a trap range, ask the range master if you can go through the cans to pick up AA shells. My buddy trys to put them aside for me when he can. You can reuse them a bunch of times, I use mine until they start to split at the crimp. They are still OK to shoot but they can hang up when you try to chamber them, I just trash them when they start to split. I use Win AA because my reloader came set up for them, ask when you buy yours if it is set up for a specific shell and shell size. I guess you can start here http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=13 then here are some general sites http://www.expertreloader.com/reloading_resources.html http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp http://www.loaddata.com/members/search.cfm http://www.imrpowder.com/data/shotshell/12...a-114-38-12.php heres a bunch of manuals, I use the Lyman one. Not all recipes are in each book and I had to mess around until I found a good one http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProd...9315***19845*** good luck, what kind of reloader do you have or are going to purchase. If you have the cash I would get a Dillon. I want one but I can't afford it http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p.../catid/1/SL_900 I currently have a posness warren that meets my needs that I got used for 100.00. Alot of people use MEC. Google it, you'll find allsorts of opinions. http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 if you want my recipes I'll give them to you but you should always be wary of using somebody else's recipe data. I can give you the Lyman data but I need to know what size and type of shell. a last site to see if you'll save money, you will on buck shot to bb, but probably not on any bird shot number 4 through 9 in a 1 1/8, so I load up to 1 1/4. http://www.trapshooters.com/rlcalcadv.htm good luck scott Edited June 15, 2008 by utahhandyman
HogBlaster 0
Thanks Uathhandyman, That is very helpful I do have some Win AA hulls a 5 gallon bucket full, and several hundred WAA12 Columns, a couple of pounds of Unique,a pound of SR 7625, Blue dot ,Red dot. ( guess it bugs the crap out of me not knowing much about shotgun reloading, I've loaded Rifle and Pistol rounds for 20 years) And knowing I proably have everything I need to load up a hundred rounds of Buckshot If I just knew the right combination. If you have any loads that work well with the Saiga 12 be sure to share! Thanks a bunch!
