Does anyone have a status report on the drums?

Ordered 10 with the first production run, and added a second set of 10 but now two of my customers are contemplating a refund due to the wait. Just trying to figure out if they are about to ship at any moment like the email said or what?

Any info appreciated.

They will be made when the molding company Mike hired decides to squirt them into the molds.

When you buy pre-orders you are risking YOUR money, so if you took other peoples money for your own pre-order just refund them their money.

Hopefully they will get done soon.....

Could be because he was promised a run date and for whatever reason, they didn't deliver as promised.

There are a myriad of reasons it could be.

Yep, but frankly, there is no reason that folks should have to guess why.

It's very unprofessional for whomever did it, to send out an email detailing that the drums are ready and will be shipping now with tracking info immediately to follow, when according to everything that is being posted they aren't even made yet?

This has nothing to do with whining and everything with professional business practices. My customers who paid up for drums .....WAAAAAAAAAAA

So I suppose you think it's very professional to take people's money for a product someone else is developing and building, and then bitch about it. How about you cancel your order and let me buy a few of those drums. You are obviously not familiar with creating something like this. Mike has been upfront about his development and several trusted forum members have been in contact with him on a regular basis and have updated his progress. You don't like it? Cancel your order.

Here's a little quote from Mike's email: "I'm hoping to start shipping the last week of June or the first week of July." Now smart guy, where the fuck does that say "the drums are ready and will be shipping now"? He said he's hoping to ship, which means that he's hoping to do something. Not will do.

edited to play nicer.

I am not bashing Mike but at the same time it is ridiculous to vulgarly call a man a troll because he wants to know the status on an over due product.

The guy has 2 posts. First wasn't too bad, but the second is just an attack. That's a red flag to me. Either he's a troll or he's pissed b/c he sold some non-existent drums to people and now his customers are getting upset. He whines about professionalism, but he can't be bothered to read the forums, Mike's email, or Mike's website. And it pisses me off when he complains about someone else's professionalism, yet he has no problem taking other people's money for something that does not exist and has no guaranteed date of delivery.

For fuck's sake, I'm tired of people bitching about this. Read the warnings, read the updates, and if you can't deal with waiting then you should cancel your order. Simple as that. How many threads do we need with people bitching about the same thing over and over?

All he has to do is read this thread to find out the current status. Instead he chooses to whine about professionalism and misrepresent Mike's latest email. I'm just sick of reading the complaints. I want my drum too, but it will come when it comes.

First off I don't care I'm content to wait as long as I'm on the list. Now I did not get the above referenced email BUT if I did and the estimated time to ship came and went I would expect feedback from the vendor. If a vendor can send an email about his hopes he should be expected to send an email about his disappointments if/when they occur since they did set an expectation. Keeping customers apprised of ongoing situations goes a long way towards keeping them quiet and out your hair. When my company deals with ongoing problems we update the customer at arranged intervals this way the customer knows when they will get updates and that leaves us free to deal with the problem. A quiet customer is usually a happy customer.

OK not bashing here but please lets break down the elements of the situation... Mike took 50% of the orders total and is using it for his development etc. Business wise if people want to be investors they invest on the aspect of what the company is going to be in the future for profit shares. Prices have already gone up from the initial order by 33+% off the top of my head. However, this was not an investment deal and it someone that is providing a product. It's like going to Bestbuy and being placed on a prerelease date for the latest version of the PS3 or something like that. Yeah different versions will come out later and updated parts etc will continue to come as development continues however being that Mike is getting money for this and everyone that gave money to him for a product that all we see are pictures. That we have the time to wait or not is a different ball game. However, if a business takes in money, I think the least it can do and in a case like this, is to send out an email with updates etc (and not an email every 3 to 4 months). I don't know Mike form a hole in the wall so to have $3700 + dollar on orders I think the least I can expect is some communication. Customers could have simple had their money in an escrow account and the money would be sitting their once he finishes the product hey everyone is happy. However and again its the fact the Mike has taken the money and is using it while the customers have to pay an opportunity cost. For Mikes friends that say he will come through that's great and I'd like to meet Mike one day once this is over (in a positive outcome) and shake his hand for a great product, but why don't all the friends put in escrow at least $26,000 since the total amount of this last drum sale was 250 drums totaling over $53,000. That would put people at ease and that's what I think everyone that doesn't know Mike is looking for security for the money they have already sent out. Furthermore, It is easy for those that say hey "cancel your order" etc what does that solve Mike is not going to make any less in a production run and shipping is not going to be any faster so never understood that point. I say we stop the finger pointing and take this for what it is and be professional about it. Remember our sport and industry is always under fire and having companies that have declared themselves bankrupt because they took in orders from what seemed to be honest people that were producing decent guns and got in way over their heads and now the are S.O.O.L. If you want to hate and just go against with what I have said that's fine. I am not the owner for the forum and we live in the U.S. and I personally hate censored forums but please lets be honest, and have integrity.

You are wrong on so many points.

first, the Forum owner lives here in the USA just like you and I.

We do not "Censor the forum"... We DO however, stomp trolls.....

If you would take the time to read, vs trolling post.

you would already know what's up.....

Tony Rumore delivered the latest news last week.

I see you have plenty of time to write.. so I'm assuming you have enough time to find the answer yourself.

Communication is here... it's just hard to find amongst all the mis leading. bashing post such as yours.

I have no intention of "censoring" your post.... You were at least, professional...just mis informed.

Just bear in mind, you chum the waters... you draw sharks.....

All I ask is be careful of what you're throwing out there.... you could get bit!

Edit: If I seem a little short, I'm worn paper thin on this topic......

Yes, as always there is an opportunity cost for the buyers. If you did not want to put money down for this product up front, then you should have negotiated different terms with MDArms. No one forced you to put the money down. No one forced others to be middle men. We all accepted the terms of the sale and put our money down. No guaranteed delivery date. That was very clear. He had many potential delivery dates, and that is very frustrating, but the terms of the sale included no specific delivery date. Communication could be vastly improved, but that also wasn't part of the sale terms. We expect it to be, but it's not there in writing.

I give Mike 5 more years and then I will have forgotten about it. I have lost more money sending it to some sh*thead in Russia on the promise of goods he never delivered than I would lose on the drums I paid for. When it comes to talk about delivery it seems that less is more. I would add that if you make any helpful or interesting posts prior to questioning about a known issue (that has been beat to death) you are regarded in a far different light. Juggs had some great advice, "Chum the water and something will bite you on the ass!" Relax, read, DO NOT whine, bitch or mention that you don't like how things are going. I've only seen one bitch thread opened and it is relatively unused. Explain to your customers that you will refund their money or they can wait like the rest of us because YOU are not in control. Kinda like the Outer Limits - Do not attempt to control the vertical, the horizontal or the focus WE are in control. :)

It is pretty obvious to me that Mike is a good guy that bit off more than he can chew.

I am still waiting for a proper response to this:

http://www.mdarms.com/scripts/openExtra.asp?extra=17

For our first production run, MD Arms will require a 50% deposit of the total invoice amount at the time of placing your order. The remaining balance will be charged right before shipping.

I was going to cancel July 1 until his last email. I will wait until 8/1, at which point my order will be canceled, and interest on my loan to Mike will be invoiced.

I'd have to agree that Mike Likely bit off more than he can chew.

I have 2 drums on order for myself. One was ordered in August and the other recently.

I am confident that the drums will be shipped, but I do think that Mike is doing a poor job with updates. Sending an email like that and then not saying anything when the date comes and passes is just not the way to do business. I am not going to cancel my orders any time soon, but I am feeling somewhat like a lemming more and more.

I am not going to be apologetic for saying this. I'm sure Mike is a great guy and means well, but I think he owes it to his customers to keep us in the loop instead of sporadic updates with no followup when the updates were off the mark.

This is exactly the only point i have a hard time with also. I am willing to be patient. but as far as im concerned, the origianl aggreement was that i pay half up front 50% and 50% when hes ready to ship and i think "ready to ship implies the drums have actually been produced, right now he has had 100% of my money for amost 4 months and the drums arent even made yet! do the math, he has sold almost 1500 drums so far, thats $250,000. and as people are cancelling, he earns 30% more on those drums, so the longer he takes to ship the more he makes. Like i said, i havent complained openly on here yet, and the only thing I AM complaining about is why he charged the other 50% when he wasnt ready to ship. I think he should reimberse everyone 50% until he has tracking numbers or at least the drums have been produced.

Can a moderator remove Glockers tasteless avatar? Not only is it in extremely poor taste, but those of us that like to occasional browse this website at work; porn is a big no no.

Don't you love it when a newbie comes in here and wants to change the world??

Isn't it great when a newbie wants to impose his notion of "extremely poor taste" on the rest of us ???Can a moderator remove "outofstep"'s post altogether, and make him start over from scratch?? Can a moderator tell "outofstep" to mind his own puritanical business ??? Porn??? Get real, nancyboy................

Awesome business model you got there. Is that Tomix's official line?

I don't have an issue with porn. But I didn't come to a firearms message forum to see some virgin's avatar of something he will never get. If I wanted to get porn I'd just hit up some torrents at puretna or demonoid. I came here to read about Saiga and the updates on the MD Arms drum. Apparently I also learned of a Saiga company that will never see a dime of my money, or any one else's money that I talk to about them.

Nope........that's Jeaux E's official line, and I stand by it. If you require some child-pap, overly censored board, then you're likely at the wrong place here..........maybe barfcom is best for you.........

As to the rest of it, oh well................ If I had a BurgerKing logo on my sigline, I guess you'd talk bad to everyone about them too, huh?? (......with the same result, I'm sure................) Grow up, asshat................, and mind your own business.

I think that you should be aware that regardless of Jeaux E's tag, he isn't Tromix (though like most here on the forum is a devout fan), that Tony is only one down from God amongst Saiga lovers and that Tony is so backed out on work due to his outstanding workmanship that if you and/or all your friends were not to give him any work it would not make the slightest difference to the very long waiting times.

Speaking personally as someone from too far away to ever become one of Tromix's customers I have only praise for Tony who took the trouble to answer a technical email from me for no gain to him or his business.

And, for what it's worth I like Glockers avatar.

Then again, I've always been fascinated by something that can move all directions at once and yet still return to zero!!

outofstep, this is an adult oriented forum, and you will most likely see a lot worse that bouncing boobs from this crowd if you stick around, which I personally don't see happening, but I have been wrong before.

Will the original poster of this thread PLEASE change the name to "Drums are Shipping HA HA HA" or something? Every time I sign on I see were someone has replied to this and think its a new thread with new info and its just this damm thread dragging on.

THANK YOU!
