IndyArms 10,186
I recently purchased a WASR10 with the 45 degree muzzlebreak, bayonet lug, etc...etc... Anyone out there KNOW how that damn muzzlebreak is attached??? It doesnt LOOK welded....Just looks like its threaded on.... but maybe threadlocked?? Is it a LEFTHAND thread? (lefty tighty, righty loosie???) ANYONE got any info on one of these little suckers? I want to get it off to be able to swap up breaks... if the tip is threaded... G O B 3,516
Check on the AK boards, but most AK types are lefthand thread. G O B
mp2go1 0
should be lh threaded. look for the plunger pin sticking out of the front sight block that stops the slant brake from unthreading. just push it in and unscrew the brake off the barrel. it should come off easily. IndyArms 10,186
I tried that and it was *NOT* coming.... I mean I had a pair of visegrips on that sucker, holding the stock with my feet... and one hand pushing the plunger with a small screwdriver, the other CRANKING on the muzzlebreak.... she would *NOT* budge.... thats why I wondered if it was threadlocked, or perhaps they are PRESSED on? to comply with the regs for resale in the US? NON-Easily removeable type of thing.....
mp2go1 0
when did you buy it? check to see if it is tack welded on, if so just lightly file the weld off and unscrew. you could also try to heat it slightly and see if it loosens so it can be removed. let us know what happens. good luck
IndyArms 10,186
I just got it about 2 months ago... I will have to hit it with a propane torch to heat it up... see if that does help... I just need to get a better grip on it I think... its tough to grip on the muzzlebreak... and I DO NOT want to get it all chewed to hell in the removal....if it wont come off, it stays on... simple as that...
