jimbo2008 0
To anyone thinking of getting a Tapco folding stock don't bother, unless you want a flimzy wobbly piece of shit. Payed $50 what a jip......it looks cool but thats about it. First Tapco product i've purchased and probably the last. Most things made in the USA are quality but Tapco resembles Chink made shit. Dose anyone Know of a better made folding stock?

anymanusa 1
I love mine. Mine is tight, tough, and very affordable. What exactly is it that you find so abhorrent about them? They're plastic, maybe nylon, and inexpensive, what did you expect? A full metal folder? I think it is a good value.
brd 1
You could have simplified the threads name to , Tapco sucks

I called Tapco and next day and the rep aplogized for the breakage and sent me a new pin. I replaced it and it works fine for me and I have it on my S-12 as well. It's good for the price. I don't expect and Ace or one of the more expensive folders but it does the job. If it was wobbly as you say then send it to me and I'll be glad to use it otherwise send it back to Tapco and they'll replace it with another stock which isn't wobbly. anymanusa 1
I had a bad experience with one myself on a WASR-10. Do share :big'allears': So far this thread has yet to produce one single actual 'reason' why these stocks 'suck'. If I made a titanium stock and sold it for $500 would you be happy? The Tapco is 'as advertised'. They don't say it's made of gold, and it ain't made of gold. What exactly is a 'bad experience'? Is that when you get a bruise from recoil after a long day of shooting?

If I have one complaint (admittedly a minor one), it's the way they fold up. I realize it's not a good idea to fire the rifle with the stock folded (poor handling and accuracy), still it would be nice to have that option (for fun if nothing else). Unfortunately, when folded, the Tapco interferes with the charging handle (nearly impossible to fire or charge the weapon with it folded). Still, if that doesn't matter to you, they're a good enough deal (plus Sprtsman's Guide has them on sale right now for $19.97): http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.a...489539&pn=1 Edited November 21, 2008 by cma g21

It is tough to get to the safety lever. But everything else works fine. Frosty I've not had one break, and they seem solid enough. Try getting some longer screws.
csspecs 1,987
My brother had one on his 20 gauge, worked well enough. He wanted to use a different sling arrangement so that he could keep the gun 'at ready' more comfortable. The tapco folder did not feel stiff enough to put that much constant pressure on it and he never folded it anyway. So we made a wood stock set for him and thats what he has now. I still have the folder, just not on anything. I like my tapco T-6, seems stiff enough for my 12 gauge. Edited May 20, 2009 by csspecs
