Guest carl
If a guy wants a saiga12ga, nothing special, but with a 19" cylinder bore barrel to allow use of slugs potentially (ouch, he knows!); and what's available is a 22" full choke only: can the guy cut the bbl to 19" and: 1. will it still have enough gas pressure to cycle the action reliably? and, 2. How far back does the constriction to full choke start? i.e. if it begins more than 4 inches back, then it cannot be cut since it would then be less than 18". Not interested in applying for a short-bbl NFA, so not going to cut less than 18.5inches no matter what. Thanks, C-
Guest CZ-52
Should work probably best to cut directly behind the choke. Slugs of 3/4 to 1 OZ should function the acton. Shot shells (Bird Shot) may not function the action at all.
Guest Richard
Cut it to 19", it will work fine with all ammo. Just don't set the gas to "2" and shoot high power rounds. These are incredibly robust guns that will function reliably under variable conditions. The most reliable ammo, in my experience, is 2 3/4" without a star crimp. Shorter rounds will occasionally fail to feed, and long star crimp rounds will occasionally fail to extract. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/nra4eva20...ga+12+Gauge.jpg
