My Saiga 7.62 with wood furniture.

Just thought id post a pic of my 7.62 with wood furniture from my 308 project.

I had never seen a Saiga with wood, that actually looks very classy, not as tactical.

 

Tactical i usually like more, but i like the look of this, is it jsut an AK wood kit??

I believe that is the wood furniture that came stock on his .308

 

I know from the shape of it that is stock Saiga furniture

The wood did come off my Saiga 308 that was converted to pistol grip,no mods needed to be done to fit the wood to the 7.62.Here is the 308 with the 7.62x39 forearm attached.

So the wood and synthetic were 100% interchangeable between the calibers with no modifications?

I had no problems,the 7.62x39 synthetic forearm was very tight to the 308 but it fit.The 308 wood fit perfect on the 7.62x39.

i think that sythetic butt is tight on all of them i had hell getting it off my saiga for the first time

The wood gives the gun some warm class. I like it (more than I suspected I would).

Those parts would look ver nice on a saiga-12 or something.

Not sure the forearm would go.

Thanks to the help I received on this board, I freed my 7.62 from its plastic and the results?!

If you seach for my old posts, there is a thread where several other members offered advice for my "woodie project".

 

I ordered the wood stock from Krebs, it had a dull finish which I removed, sanded and then refinished with polyurethane stain. Other members suggested tung oil, which gives good results, too.
