k_dawg 0
I am almost done with my conversion. I did alot of prep work to get the mechanism and trigger "up to snuff". I used some very fine emory cloth to lightly "sand" the rails smooth. Actually used it+cutting oil. I also did the mating surfaces on the bolt carrier, and the bolt-rod itself. I then stripped/cleaned everything using Hoppes #9, and put it in the oven on low to dry completely. I then used Mobil 1 full sythentic oil, and literally coated everything. I let that sit overnight. Then, I wiped everything down good. ( this took a while to get all the surface oil off ) All the surfaces were smooth, slick yet not sticky. Then I lightly greased all the contact points with "Moly" 65 grease. Our machine shop uses it on all their CnC mill/lathes etc. I also did the G2 trigger group, and the reduced tension disconnector spring. I just assembled the gun.. and it's.. Smooooootttthhh as BUTTA!!!!!!!
brian33x51 1
I've been using DuraLube instead of Mobile 1. I'm not sure if the teflon in the duralube is bad or not, though.
k_dawg 0
I knew I was going to use Moly for the lubricration, so I didn't need the teflon. Mostly was the filing and the G2 trigger group that worked wonders!
