tylersmall83 0 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Share Posted November 11, 2008 i just got home to find a package with my new piston from tapco. i opened it and compared it to the stock piston and its longer. its about 1/4" longer. is that normal? will she still work? anyone else notice this? STOP. It'll work just fine. The difference is negligible and won't affect the functionality at all. I've used AKM length pistons in all my builds, both AKM and AK-74 type rifles, and they all run just fine. I merely provide the visual. I don't second guess the designer. What will work is a different story. My personal builds are based on what the designer intended.
