scotchleaf 0
What is the shortest unmodified Saiga 20 shotgun? Can I just hacksaw off the barrel to the minimum legal length?
James92TSi 0
From the factory the S-20 is available in 19" or 22" barrel length. Assuming you have no local/state laws to the contrary, the minimum shotgun barrel length per federal law is 18" as measured from the closed bolt face to the end of the barrel. If you're going to cut it most people recommend leaving an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inch for error and so you have some material to square up your cut. Don't know if you will have issues with gas flow if you cut down a 22" to 18.5". Maybe, maybe not... varies from gun to gun.
fobmagi 0
I wouldn't want to cut it shorter than 18.5" and that's only 1/2" savings if you start with a 19". Not worth the trouble of losing the threads or rethreading. Just buy a 19" and be happy with it unless you want to get a SBS tax stamp.
