langenator 1
If I do a basic conversion with a basic AK stock, how difficult would it be to remove the AK stock and replace it with an ACE stock later? I ask because I'm looking to do the simplest conversion I can right now, and save the more complicated stuff for later.
mscottrogers 56
Depends on the ace stock. The simple conversion you speak of is the easieist with no mods. The ace stock with an AK stock end with a folder is just a matter of unscrew old, screw in new. If you want to use the flush folder, you have to hack saw off the upper tang, then screw in the adapter then use the ace stock, or you can hack off the tang, weld on the plate, bolt on a folder adapter, then bolt on a stock. Ace supplies you with a lot of options depending on your skill and cash supply. Right now you can just use what you want for an Ak stock and think about your Ace options. Just go to their site and browse.good luck and have fun. I did a simple conversion to see if I wanted a folder using the cheap ATI AK folder, hand grip and barrel grip. $85 plus shipping It doesn't look to bad, is stable but is all plastic. I'll post pics tonight. good enough for cheap until I get up the ACE funds myself. I like steel and aluminum over plastic. Not much to grind for the front hand grip either
zone1935 5
As long as you are not using an ace internal block with a Tromix or Sigatech Diy trigger guard. Changing stocks after the fact should not be difficult. I replaced a Tapco fixed with a M4 adapter and stock after the fact.
