What is a cheap an effective way to attach this flashlight?

Bolt a generic segment of picatinny rail to your handguard then stick your light in an adapter.

You can sell the rail segments you don't use, heck I'd buy the long rail from you for $10,lol

IMO, a tac light on a home defense shotty is perfect. BG breaks into your dark house, you have a tac light on your IZ-109 of about 240 lumens, light him up with it and temporarily blind him as well as illuminating your target for your shooting pleasure. Since it's a shotty, it will basically hit somewhere near the center of the light, anyway. :smoke:

you would be contrary to any authority on tactics to categorically dismiss mounted lights.

OP, screw some rail to the forearm & 6 o clock near the front then buy a $12 set of 1" scope rings from wallmart. Then put a Surefire G2 in there.

Get the regular incandessant G2 & buy the Cree 256 lumen LED head from Tactical Night Vision Co. Also, get a surefire clicky tail cap.

If you want to use the light w/ a VFG, get a stubby VFG (cause the mags rock) & then screw on the rail & vet a Vikings Tactics offset light mount for $20. Put the light to the R side of the gun if you are R handed for use w/ your L thumb.

Get the Vtac mount from DPMS. It is $20 w/ NO SHIPPING.

That is as cheap as it gets.

Your welcome.

this one is pretty sweet too, but you will need a rail,..

You know, both this solution and the duct tape could work, but it occurs to me that there may be moments where you want to turn it off easily to avoid giving away your position. I wonder if tac flashlights are ever mounted with an on/off mechanism near the trigger?

I wouldn't go too cheap on a gun I'm trusting my life to. The parts SOPMOD links to seem fine. If you want a VFG use an offset mount, like the ones rightwingnut mentioned. A pressure switch would be preferred, not cheap but worth it.

I use a TLR1 and they make remote pressure switches for them like you mention but my hand on the forearm puts my thumb within inches of the tail of the light so my thumb is my remote switch, lol
