Filling Receiver?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've had the receiver for my Saiga-12 machined and the superfluous holes that remain after conversion TIG-welded, but a few conspicuous but superficial depressions remain where the receiver was welded. Would it be possible to cold-weld (J-B Weld) these to fill them? Or are there better alternatives?

Thanks

Here's the image. The depressions are very shallow, but I can't weld myself to repair them. I was considering some kind of filler for metal like the following: http://www.alvinproducts.com/Products/Products.asp?ID=1. But maybe there's a better solution.

I also plan to have this media-blasted soon, so whatever I use needs to be able to tolerate that.

give a look at this stuff, http://www.aluminumrepair.com/shopping/sho...p;cat=HTS%2D528 they have a product just for steel,or just have more tig weld put on it, as far as JBweld or other epoxy fillers, they may pop off when you do not want it to, like after you all done refinshing the gun....and epoxy fillers will not hold up to media-blast....
