jesusplayedwithwood 0
It's actually 2 choke tubes and an extra thread protector (if you have a threaded barrel it probably already came with one on it to protect the threads) in the "choke set" for the Saiga 12. I had a set on backorder through EAA, but since they crapped out on importing anything Saiga I've kinda lost hope of ever getting a set. Apparently they are kinda rare and most people seem to choose to get their barrel chopped and rethreaded for domestic chokes. I however think the concept of having a choke that threads on to the barrel externally makes a hell of a lot more sense, as the gun can be fired with or without any sort of choke or thread protector installed on the barrel without fear of blowing the thing out of the end of the barrel. Given, it may still try to unscrew, but to me it seems the Russians were a bit more practical in choosing external threads. There's my two cents. P.S. Anybody out there have any Siaga chokes that they'd care to sell?
IndyArms 10,186
Hell... I am in the "anyone got any chokes to sell" Line too... I want a set for mine... LOL
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
oh great...here we go again......saiga shit that cannot be found.... what is my 19" barrel with IC choke come with? just a thread protector? no choke? 1 choke? Integratedj 1
My 19" came only with the nut. EAA said that the chokes are an extra accessory that you must pay for. Assholes. I still need a set for mine, but will probably have to order from Europe on them as well. IJ
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Is that the thread protector? the nut i mean?
duffman 1
My 19" S-12 came with a cyl choke on the end. The only way I could tell was checking the markings with the info in the manual. C(0.0) are the markings on the outside of the choke tube.
G O B 3,516
EAA is still selling Saiga parts. Just not all of them. Check their web site. Remember- they were never CHEAP, or even reasonable! G O B
hartzpad 0
Only the 19" threaded barrel model can accept the Saiga chokes. My 19" came with one cylinder choke marked (0,0). I then purchased a choke set from EAA for $50. It comes with one improved cylinder choke (0,.5), one full choke (0,1) and one thread protector.
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
EEA site doesn't appear to work when you hit order on saiga goods. Is there anyplace that has that set?
IndyArms 10,186
The one that CAME WITH The gun is just a thread protector, just like on my .410.... and I dont think EAA has them anymore... thats the BITCH.... going to be *REAL FREAKIN HARD TO FIND them now!!!!* bastages! All they seem to have listed on the site now for chokes, are INTERNAL tubes for the IZH27, IZH43, and the MP133, and MP153 SUCKHOLES..... dodgeturbointerceptor 1
i wonder what the different dealers did with the stock they had...or was it always pretty much just EAA?
Tokageko 8
Hey, DTI I recently ordered a part for my 308 from the EAA website. It took a few tries, but it did go through. In fact it went through twice. I had to email them to cancel one of the orders, which they did. Shipping was relatively quick. If all else fails, you should be able to order from them over the phone, I think. Hope that helps.
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Not certain that will work for those of us interested in S-12 Choke Set. 3days ago. the S-12 had them listed for like 46.50 next to the MP ones... Check today...That whole kit has been cut out of the site. My link in another thread is now not working either....so....
Tokageko 8
hmmmm, so much for optimism. I did look at their site today. They don't even list the long guns they used to carry. Are the factory choke tubes all that different from any other brand of chokes?
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
I'm the wrong guy to ask..sorry. this choke thing is kicking my ass. i miss smoothbore non-autoloaders right now.
IndyArms 10,186
the 12 gauge choke tubes are JUST like the .410 tubes, thread on ther OUTSIDE of the barrel....
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Yep...external threading. But it seems that alot of the Winchesters, and others are threaded opposite of ours.
