Bvamp 604
I want to point out right now, that CGW has no hands in anything that LOOKS LIKE or can BE ASSUMED TO BE a Tromix! We will NOT NOT NOT copy Tony's patterns! THAT IS ABSOLUTELY OFFICIAL FROM CADIZ GUN WORKS. now, all things aside, who did it? LOL who is that, "dan and dan" from rising sun? It sure looks like it.....they DO do some nice work.....
Wakko 10
I think it looks good. I've never heard of RST, but that's not saying much.
MCASgt New River 10,037
Looks to have a Tromix shorty handguard too? Are the Tromix HG's or HK sights design a propriatary issue? I know coping is supposed to be the GREATEST form of flattery but come on! Aside from the muzzle brake it could "to my untrained eye" be mistaken for a S17!! At least they called it their own and not suggested it was something it wasn't. Tony, Bob......any words of wisdom?
TonyRumore 1,332
The shorty hand guard is the only Tromix part that is NOT sold through MS Auto Arms. I know exactly who I sell to, and reserve the right of course, to stop those sales at any time. It looks like a decent conversion, however it is likely that the top cover will start popping out of the track in the front after prolonged shooting. I'm surprised they use the ACE receiver block to mount the stock, rather then welding in a Tromix back plate for a cleaner looking installation. The good news is that they stopped using that breacher that had an ID SMALLER then the bore. Tony
BobAsh 582
lol Rising sun again.
Wakko 10
Those are the guys that had the kaboom due to the ID of the brake?
Wakko 10
The reserve is $2100.
BobAsh 582
The reserve is $2100. That's why I am always suprised when guys give up their place in the waiting list. I mean, I know it's been a while since you placed the order and times are hard and all, but you could realistically turn an instant profit.

It does have a Tromix handguard and a lot of features that have become associated with Tony's guns. It's obvious at a glance it's not a Tromix, though, by the trigger guard and muzzle brake. Twinsen 86
Does Tony use a Galil style grip ever? That grip looks awesome.
Monk 0
I have both seen and held Rising Sun's conversions at gun shows and from what I could tell by holding them and examining them on the outside, they look to be high quality pieces. Finish looked great and their welding (filling the holes from the conversion and attaching the new trigger guard) was so good that if I didn't know better, I would think that the thing was never welded at all - that was what impressed me the most by far. The guys who work there have always been very nice to me.
nib 1
Tony, Why will the cover become loose on this type of build. Will the carrier stretch the cover? I have a 8 inch being done by RST with a Bulgi rear folding trunion/stock. Will this set up be ok? Thanks PS I own 2 of your Saigas 1 Valmet Beta mag tower and over 40 of your valmet Bulgi mags. I just didnt make the list in time for #
nib 1
BTT for Tony
TonyRumore 1,332
The bolt carrier comes all the way out of the gas tube, strikes the top cover, and knocks it out of the track in front. They need to weld an extension hood out over the top cover. Some guns don't have that problem, since the carrier is not that loose in the receiver. But others will have the problem, trust me. The builder just doesn't know it yet....because they haven't built enough of them to experience the problem. Ignorance is bliss......... Tony
