Can someone please explain the difference between these two items

Recommended Posts

I've been looking into buying all of my conversion parts recently and I've been kinda stumped by the pistol grip/collapsible stock options. I've pretty much decided on a TAPCO stock, but on the MS Auto site, I found these two options:

http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=339 for 69.99

and

http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=124 for 149.99

I've poured over the descriptions and tried to figure out what the difference is, but I just can't find it. Can someone enlighten me please?

as far as function, they are both the same. The one for 149 looks to be more of a well built setup.

Personally I would choose to relocate the trigger to AK spec. That fixes issues with both balance of the rifle as well as the trigger pull using the linkage system. The more expensive one is by ACE and has a metal receiver block and stock tube and the Tapco is all composite.

The cheaper one is a one-piece plastic setup. It will bolt right on to your unconverted Saiga, and that's all you'll be able to do with it. The $150 Ace product is actually a set. It's a receiver block that wil bolt on to your unconverted Saiga, plus a SAW pistol grip and AR stock adapter that attach to the block. The M4 stock attaches to the AR stock adapter. Besides being better built, it gives you some flexibility. If you install the $150 item, you can then convert your Saiga later and all you'll need to replace is the receiver block. With a new block, you can attach the AR stock adapter and reuse the pistol grip as well. You could also use any AR carbine-type stock compatible with the buffer tube. Look at the ACE website to get an idea of what the parts would run you seperately. If you have the money to spare it's a much better setup than the one-piece plastic setup. Ideally I'd go with a conversion, but the ACE setup is the next best thing.

The first one is a D.I.Y stock. I ordered it for my S12 and all you have to do is screw the pistol grip in to the stock.

I'm guessing the second one is all together.
