It's not the follower that allows the bullet to feed. The saiga mags have an extended lip on the edge of the mag that leads up to the chamber, that the bullets ride to feed properly. The standard AK mags to not have this extended lip, and require the bullet guide for proper feeding. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Take your time, keep the drill straight, go very slow when tapping (being sure to back it out often, to knock the chips out), and you'll be fine. If you know anyone with a drill press, it makes it 100 times easier. Actually, with a drill press, there's pretty much zero chance of screwing anything up, alignment-wise. Still be sure to go slow with the tap, and make sure you don't snap it off. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
