I just spoke with Sharon Bell this morning from EAA... they still have INTERNAL parts for saiga's, and some standard size mags for them too...

When I asked about why EAA dropped the Saiga line, she told me something that I thought was VERY interesting....

She said...

"They asked us to do something that we felt would not be LEGAL, so we told them we would NOT do it... they told us 'FINE, We will find someone else that CAN!' ..."

What does *THAT* mean???? I didnt want to press her for the info, I felt that could put her in a "non-professional" aspect.

BUT... who out there wants to speculate on that????

Importing saigas with all the trimmings? folding stocks? extended magazines? anyone care to throw around some thoughts on this... as it *WILL* be all speculation.... UNLESS one of you folx out there KNOWS THE DIRT on this situation??????

She also told me that there is NOTHING DIFINITIVE about RAAC aquiring the saiga line... that at the moment it was merely WHO was lined up, *IF* they were able to aquire the rights to import.

I figure... if they are the ones wanting it... then they will probably GET IT... but I dont know how all the rigamarole on that sort of thing works.... we will see... and keep our fingers crossed... Lets hope whatever they wanted that was "potentially not legal" turns out to be LEGAL... and maybe we will have a new place to get all them wondrous toys we so desire!!!

Ill tell you right now what it was. the high cap magazines for the shotguns and the pistol gripped weapons. they arent legal in every state, so how I understood how EAA works, is if they cant sell it to most states, or if there are odd laws out there that they think are grey areas, they wont do it. further, I doubt EAA has the manpower to bring in the guns in kit form and assemble them here in the US.

question....and i saw a russian fellow ask this here one time a ways back...

if you were to ship the us necessary parts to mother russia....and they assembled the gun in russia with the correct US parts to be 922 legal, CAN you import it like that? I think thats literally the million dollar question thats being asked or the russians are trying to work around it.

I contacted RAAC myself and asked them and they verified that they will be picking up the line. They said they were finishing up their warehouse and working on their website. I wouldnt listen to a word EAA says.
