smithmonsters 0
I was wondering if anyone has used green furniture on a saiga 12 or 20? On any saiga for that matter. Pics would rock. Thanx
Cobra 76 two 2,677
This one's got some green on it. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=2836 Edited February 4, 2005 by Cobra 76 two
smithmonsters 0
Do the handgaurds from ak's fit the saiga shottys? Or can you make them?
whatthedil 7
I dont know if they would fit, but man they may look ugly as hell since the shottys gas tube is bigger and doesnt taper. I was thinking you could just paint or vinyl dye all the black...

hardcorps1775 1
they don't fit but can be made to fit. the problem is fastening the front end. a lot of the guys here have freehanded collars and such from scratch. the neatest one is the fullauto s12 by coles with the amd-65 fore end! awesome look! Looks good It covers everything, but the edge of the tube. Now just to see what a traditional AK forgrip would look like

smithmonsters 0
Oh yeah,. That would be awsome. All 10 of my guns are black so i just want to mix things up a bit, and i like the OD green on the springfield XD40 compacts. If paint will hold up, im down. INDYARMS-Where did you get your textured paint from? Edited February 5, 2005 by gunnergrif

johnnymceldoo 0
johnnymeceldoo- That Gun ROCKS!! Is that a Tapco Galil handguard, and if so-Was it hard to put on. Also-Where did you get that baddass flashhider? Yes its from tapco. It wasnt too hard to put on. I had too relieve the tang in the rear bottom so it could slip into the saiga reciever. I also superglued some plastic peices on the inside to fill up the gap inside and make it sturdier. The hardest part was making the front retaining plate. Its basically just a .100 thick U shaped peice of metal with a hole drilled through the bottom so you can tighten it down to the gas block. The flash hider is made by me. IndyArms 10,186
INDYARMS-Where did you get your textured paint from? Well, I walk downstairs at work to the maintenance shop... and grab a can or two off the shelf... LOL HONESTLY...Thats where I will be getting it! I will have to check the label, monday to see exactly WHAT brand it is... but they use it on EVERYTHING they build there... It looks GREAT on metal.. I am hoping it will look as good on the polymer stocks... once I clean the snot out of them.... as long as the stock is clean and smooth... it should paint up REAL NICE! Like I said, I will keep you posted... and post pics when I get one painted up!
Doerdie 0
It ain't "Hammerite" is it?
IndyArms 10,186
I Dunno... it COULD be.... it LOOKS like hammered/maleated metal when it dries... SAME TEXTURE on the russian scope mounts/PSO scopes... I like the color we have and the texture is cool...
Doerdie 0
Thats what Hammerite looks like. I used to use the silver, looks like you painted it then beat the hell outta it with a ballpeen hammer. Its great for "smoothing" rough surfaces to the eye.
IndyArms 10,186
SO, Doerdie.... Ya think Hammerite would work well on a saiga stock and handguard, if cleaned well?? I think the two tone green/black will be cool on one... prolly going to do it to the .223, and not convert it for a while...just leave it stock... What ya think??? Yea? Nay? Doerdie 0
Im not sure, we used it on welds and brazed joints to protect againsts the elements in Florida. By looking at their website it seems they have expanded their product line, but paint is for metal surfaces. http://www.hammerite.com/webapp/wcs/stores...p/Home_Page.jsp Edited February 7, 2005 by Doerdie
