segasaiga 0
My friends S12 has one of those elite shark brakes, but it doesnt match the rest of the gun. What is it that needs to be done to the brake to fix this?
BobAsh 582
"elite" shark brake? Where did he get it?
segasaiga 0
I put elite because it looks so cool. It was one of the normal brakes - he says he got it from Mississippi auto arms.
TonyRumore 1,332
The color match to the newer guns should be pretty damn close. If his gun is an earlier one, it will be more glossy, like a Galil or HK black. The Tromix brakes are shot in moly resin that matches up fairly well with the latest guns. Of course these days, there are so many "fake" Tromix products, it could be, that the brake is not one of ours. Tony
Azrial 1,091
I saw an Escort shotgun, made in Turkey, that had what looked to me like a copy of the Tromix brake at a local gunshow. I guess that if you consider imitation the most sincere form of flattery...

The shark brake in question doesn't appear to have the moly on it. It appears dark grey compared to the black barrel. The Saiga was made in 2007. What all is involved in putting moly on something? You dont have to bake it, right?
BobAsh 582
Dark grey? Weird. All the shark brakes are moly-resined in flat black. Yes you have to bake the part before and after spraying. Edited March 4, 2009 by BobAsh
