PM 092 scope mount ?

Recommended Posts

Please help another newbie out... Anyone have experience using the PM 092 scope mount? If so, which scopes have you tried with it. Once again thanks for all the good help.

I am also considering a quick release style... if there are any available that can re-zero accurately enough to compete with a fixed.

No pic...mount is at gunshop where I bought my saiga. Wouln't matter anyway, I haven't been successful posting a pic yet....can't even do the "show me" page...to show my beautiful new saiga 7.62x39. I'm still learning the ropes of this great forum. Help with that would be great. But any way, I did a google search of "Promag PM092 scope mount". The 3rd one on the list had it. www.promagindustries.com/aCCESSORIES.ASP was the page that showed a PM 092A. The one at the gunshop has PM 092 on it....but it looks the same...locks down with 3 allen head screws.

Don't get one of those. Get one of these: http://www.onesourcetactical.com/index.asp...amp;ProdID=1631

Too expensive? Then try one of these as a good second choice: http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/sight_mounts.htm MTK Weaver-siderail mount.

Still to much? Then try this: http://www.goodoptics.com/good/28

I have one of those, and it works great. If you choose this one the only thing you'll have to do is remove the screws and locktight them. They are rather loose from the factory. Clean the threads with alcohol before you apply the thread lock and your good to go.

Excellent...thankyou....I would rather go quick release....for a number of reasons....#1 being I bought this for reliability, proven ballistic results and high cap...not a tack driver. Besides, I was a dummy and didn't get the AR I wanted when I could afford them!!! I'm not looking to scope for more than 150-200yds max, so I figure on a fixed 4x or maybe a 1.5 x 5x...6-8x max depending on whats out there. This will be a plinker...but #1 backup for SHTF...for now. My son isn't quite up to this yet! Don't expect it to be used for more than yard/neighborhood duties...if it comes to it.

Glad I could help. Personally, I'd not scope it either. For the purposes you describe I'd put a quailty Red Dot on it instead.

Don't skimp in this area either. Some good ones are Aimpoint Comp C3: http://www.onesourcetactical.com/index.asp...&ProdID=753

I have this one, and I like it a lot. Another one I'd not be ashamed of is: http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/sight_pk-01.htm

Just remember you have to convert the currency from British Sterling to U.S. for the latter. As of today it converts to 251.172 US dollars, plus the shipping.

Many people can't justify paying as much or more for an optic than they did the gun, but in my experience it's just as important.

Rule of thumb in this area is "Buy once cry once" Period! Many will argue the issue, but not with me cause I won't listen. :haha:

Anyway, I think you'll be glad you got an AK platform over an AR once you shoot it enough to fall in love with it. On that topic the debate never ends :deadhorse: , but it does here cause us AK lovers know that we are a breed apart, and are not ashamed of it. :super:

Let us know how you make out.
