lid 0
Hey everyone, I've been lurking around the forum getting opinions of saiga rifles, as well as gathering information for a conversion. I used to have a Norinco SKS-D which I traded for a drum kit back in 2007. Needless to say 2 years later I really regret my decision. I cant believe how much those are going for now, its ridiculous. However, I did keep all my pre-ban 30rnd ak mags (glad I had the foresight to keep em').I was able to relief myself of guilt by getting a Saiga 7.62 from gilberts, which shipped out today!! After looking at what everyone has to say about the Saiga, i had better not be disappointed Getting to the point, I understand that it would be wise if I maintain 922r compliance if I decide to do the pistol grip conversion. I would like to if i get the barrel/receiver/gas tube blued or parkerized will it qualify them as US made parts? Does the skeletonized saiga stock on gilberts guns count as a compliance part? I tried to search for an answer before posting, but I had no luck in finding an answer. Man I can't wait to go blast off some rounds, im chomping at the bit waiting for it to get here. Oh BTW I reside in the Empire State, and i hate its gun laws with a passion but I'm not about to get financially sodomized, get jailed and then sodomized for real

If you spackle a Corvette, does it become a Kia Rio? The feds have ruled that the function must change for the part to be counted as "US made". The skeleton stock sold by Gilberts is made in Russia, so no. Edited March 26, 2009 by nalioth

Well I googled the crap out of my question and searched the forum as well and found NOTHING concerning my question. There is no reason to be snide and demeaning to me. Leaving out the "If you spackle a corvette..." comment and just answering the question would've sufficed. Edited March 26, 2009 by destroy the machine
