justinmcmillion 77
Who makes a good bipod? Too many options..
XXasdf 29
Harris makes good swing swivel stud mount bipods. I would avoid the cheaper copies from walmart such as rock mount. I recently switched to a grippod but they're a bit pricy and aren't worth the money IMO. Edited May 31, 2009 by XXasdf
banshee 69
Who makes a good bipod? Too many options.. I would check out Harris. They have been making them for 30+ years for a reason. I have used mine for over 20 years with zero problems. Edited May 31, 2009 by Banshee
justinmcmillion 77
Harris it is, thanks guys
BKLYN_C 14
RPK if you can find one. On the other hand, bipod is not essential part of the rifle and has no essence to the critical functionality therefore I cant justify spending $100+ for a harris, but they are really really good Edited June 2, 2009 by BKLYN_C

mstranglr 9
+1 on the Harris. I really prefer the swivel option too. If you are mounting to a rail, I highly recommend the YHM adapter.

Hey man, thanks for the post. That's exactly what I've been looking for. Does the YHM adapter let the gun actual swivel on the bipod?
mstranglr 9
Hey man, thanks for the post. That's exactly what I've been looking for. Does the YHM adapter let the gun actual swivel on the bipod? The bottom surface of the YHM adapter is convex, so it perfectly fits the into the Harris Bi-pod with no gaps. This lets the Bi-pod function as intended. The swivel function is not needed for bench rest shooting, but if you hunt or take shots in the field on uneven terrain, the feature is awesome.
elvis christ 451
Awesome, I'm sold. I'll pick that up next month when I get paid, I've limited myself to spending less than $100 a month on gun stuff, and I'm already at my limit, one week into the month. BTW, what's up with that pistol grip on your .308? Edited July 6, 2009 by elvis christ
csspecs 1,987
Its so he can have a pistol grip in CA. I think its called a "monster man grip"? It sits at an angle and has a web to prevent your hand from wrapping around it. So its not a "pistol grip"

pfmedic 8
will the harris 6-9" bipod support a 20 or 25 round surefire mag or do I need a larger size?
Redwood 3
This is the one I'm saving for. CAA has lots of options in their bipod department. Expensive but they look excellent. http://www.commandarms.com/product.asp?pID=324&cID=20&c=21726
