Mittelmorder 1
As a very stupid person when it comes to mechanical things. (I managed to convert just fine.. i screwed up the bullet guide however.) How easy/hard/impossible is it to install a FSB, and what is the process for doing so? I really would like a brake and cleaning rod and such. Thanks.

Get a block of wood and a big hammer and go to town to get the old one off. Then get yourself a bulgarian FSB and press it on. I rate it harder just because it's a bit of a PITA to beat it on straight. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.

bigsal 757
Member "Imarangemaster" just converted his and he has pictures posted off the main thread. The FSB instal is a difficult task: 8 or 9/10 on a 1-10 difficulty scale. Still, just take it slow and you can accomplish anything.
imarangemaster 315
Here's the link to my step by step post: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=40400 +1 to bigsal, it is a 8/10 or 9/10 without proper tools. Unless you want a bayonet lug, it is much easier to cut back the muzzle shroud and tap it 14mmL for AMD65 brake or a 14mm L AK74 brake. (aftermarket) Real AK 74/103 brakes are 24x1.5 mm R and use a Bulgarian type front sight base. The Blackthorne 24mm is cost effective, and not to bad to put on (about a 7.75/10 scale).
