ulev1st 0
I recently did the conversion on my Saiga 12...I just picked up a brand new Saige 7.62x39...I would like to convert it also. Will the Tromix DIY trigger guard designed for the 12 ga work for the 7.62? Edited June 8, 2009 by ulev1st
nalioth 405
No, it will not. The Saiga 12 gauge is the only Saiga that's "different" on the bottom side. On the plus side, all the other Saigas convert the same way.
Hemlock 1
Like the last guy said, no. It doesn't line up quite right. If you want something similar, Saigatech offers a trigger guard for the 7.62. Or, when you rip off the metal plate fromt the bottom of the gun, there should be the standard AK grip nut hole. You can get a standard ak grip nut (tapco has them as a set with the standard AK grip bolt). Then you could just attach a stardard AK grip, or with a new bolt and a washer a different style grip. shades_of_grey 1,092
You don't need the major advantage offered by the Tromix/Saigatech S-12 DIY triggerguard when converting a Saiga 7.62. The pistol grip hole is already there. I had to cut that in my S-12, and although in retrospect, it wasn't that hard, it certainly was nerve-wracking! On a 7.62 conversion a factory machined pg hole is already waitin for ya. Use it. Edited June 10, 2009 by post-apocalyptic
