Gedi 0
I was looking at some of the AK47 kits as well as an ar15 kit. One thing I was curious about is if any one has put a parkerized finish on there kits? I've looked at some of the kits and the one at http://www.shootersolutions.com/ looks the best. Any suggestions? Guest Guest_Coffee_*
I've heard good things about their stuff. I bought my mix from Brownells, but can't say its any better. Park'n not that hard, and paints (such as guncoat) tend to grab better to the parkerizing. Can't remember where there are some web sites dedicated to park'n, do a search. For military weapons, it's the best way to go. Good Luck
vjor 2
I do Parkerizing, but I do it the old way, have done zinc and manganese phosphate and like the zinc better, is excellent to bond any other finish on top like gunkote or LCW. here are few links you can look at. how to phophate http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/note...rk/pagepark.htm LCW duracoat they sale phophate to. http://www.lauerweaponry.com/ KG look under sporting good , they have gunkote and new stuff for finishes on guns http://www.kgcoatings.com/ John Norrel , they have moly resin http://www.johnnorrellarms.com/molyresin_about.asp and for last brownells , they have phophate and blackener for zinc phophate and some other stuff, look unde metal coloring http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Home/default.aspx Edited February 26, 2005 by vjor

Gedi 0
Thanks for the great info. Can't wait to get started. Next will be the pistol grip conversion for the saiga 12. (if only it was legal to make it full auto)
