May be 12 inches deep as the front is bit diagnal and I measured to the short side. Made of 1/8 inch steel with a key lock. (I think I can find both keys) Fits under the seat or in the trunk of a car or anywhere else you would like to mount a small safe....closet maybe. Has mounting holes in the bottom.
