waynebar 52
Saw one of these at Gander Mountain, anyone have any information on accuracy, etc. Build quality looks very good. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms...del_597_vtr.asp Edited July 28, 2009 by wayneb
22_Shooter 1,560
So they're actually out on the shelves for sale already? Cool. How much did they want for it? (Being that it's Gander, I'm sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere) This link says the price was going to be $445-$479: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/05...ar-15-style-22/ If I was looking for an AR trainer, I'd opt for a CMMG conversion kit for about $190. But for a plinker, this Remmy could be cool. Regular Remington 597's are known to be pretty accurate. I bought one (it was actually my first gun ever) and I still like it and am more than pleased with it's accuracy. So I imagine these will have, at least, the same good accuracy, if not better. The one thing I've been wondering is if they'll decide to sell just the "shell", so you can drop your regular 597 receiver into it. IndyArms 10,186
It looks to me to be the SAME dress up kit they had out for the Ruger 10/22 just tweaked to fit the Remington variant...
