Shark Brake VS Flash Hider.

Recommended Posts

It seems like the norm for everyone to get the Shark Brake on their SBS except for JeauxE who is the only one I have seen with what I assume is a factory flash hider. I have also read that if you use a flash hider then the muzzle blast is less likely to wrap around your hand.

Would Tony, Bob or anyone else that has fired MANY, MANY rounds out of their SBS with either of the above muzzle devices please comment as to the pro/con's for both? Pictures of course are always a added bonus...who doen't like gun porn?

Thanks to everyone in advance for the info. :smoke:

I, too, originally had the SharkBrake on my TROMIX 10". The concern wasn't so much the fireball coming back and wrapping around my hand as it was the Shark blowing the discharge back in my face. (.....as I'm sure you know....)

(.....lots of rounds, fumes in the eyes, choke choke)

Take a look at Tony or Bob's shorties and see what they run.......Tony runs a bad-ass custom compensator of his own design, and Bob runs a muzzle nut.........

The flash hider on my shorty now is a TROMIX hider, and entirely solved my problem !!! (not that it would be a problem to everyone......)

I still run the Shark Brake on my S06, but the barrel is long enough to move the backblast far enough away......, but for the shorty, I love my TROMIX Flash Hider !!

Just get one of each, and swap 'em out as you feel like it!!

I took the Shark Brake off my 8" because I didn't care for the gas coming back at my face. It wasn't bad, but it was an unnecessary distraction and made the fireball bigger and closer. While cool, it's not very practical, on an 8", unless your breaching doors, IMHO. I am currently running it with just the factory thread protector on. I intend to try it with the flash suppressor when I can get to the range when it's somewhat dark out. Bob said it works surprisingly well on his 8", but he has failed to post pictures . . . ;):haha:

You'll love it...............

Oops, I should have been more specific. I meant a picture of how well it functions. You know, a picture in the dark, or near dark, showing how well it functions on the 8" whilst in use. I know Bob said he and Tony were surprised by how well it worked, but can we really believe him without a picture?

But seriously though, like I said, I'll try it on mine when I get the chance.

LOL I SEE HOW IT IS, RAOUL!

 You must have been tired this morning . . . Hadn't yet finished your first cup of joe ? ? ? :haha: I thought your "Tromix Signal" picture was the picture to which I was referring. And I thought, damn, if you can see the flash up on the clouds like that, it's not "hiding" it very well . . . And mine doesn't project a color Tromix logo, I think mine's broken . . .

Well, you know, I was hoping that with a little provocation I could get you to post a picture of it in use, if you had one . . .

But, if no one else beats me to it, I'll do it when I can. But 99.9% of the time, or somewhere there about, I only have access to a public range, which closes at 7 p.m.
