Paulry 50
POST #800! MAK and blkgunlvr, Was a treat fitting the gas tube, don't you think! The Saiga rifle with the front side converted sure makes it seem small! Makes for a very compact little carbine! It was fun to shoot this last weekend. Looking forward to more of that. I'll get a BG from Dinzag and some of his plastic hole plugs. Not so sure about the muzzle end yet, I got time for that. Good job all around. 1+ to Klassy Kalashnikov on the LHG retainer! Spent $550 on the saiga and parts not to mention the ammo and mags. Give it time, it will happen.
Paulry 50
OK, this is a better photo. Still a work in progress. I have a DPH comp on it in the photo (yes, it's coming off!)

-dW 2
it's a CAA M4 tube with a Magpul CTR? stock.. I have it permanently pinned to comply with state law but that's fine.. I'm not playing a slide trombone.. It's only really comfortable to shoot in position 3 anyway..

SaigaScott 6
one more in the sunlight from the range this afternoon... Beautiful, how you liking that Magpul stock?
-dW 2
Thanks.. and I like the magpul, it's nice and light.. my tax return is burning a hole in my pocket so I just ordered a cheek riser for it from midway.. it's good as-is with the irons but I also just ordered a Krebs receiver rail system and it will need a riser for proper cheek weld with receiver mounted optics (IMO) I'm also thinkin' on that lightning bolt left-side charging handle but haven't decided yet
SaigaScott 6
Thanks.. and I like the magpul, it's nice and light.. my tax return is burning a hole in my pocket so I just ordered a cheek riser for it from midway.. it's good as-is with the irons but I also just ordered a Krebs receiver rail system and it will need a riser for proper cheek weld with receiver mounted optics (IMO) I'm also thinkin' on that lightning bolt left-side charging handle but haven't decided yet What I plan on doing is going to a local gun show, buy a used bolt carrier and old dust cover/plate and then mod it to be a make shift lightning bolt. Nothing a dremel, a welder and some TLC won't do. ;P But I feel ya on the tax return.. a buddy of mine sold me his old UTG quad rail system for $40. I figured why not, it's not too heavy, it's aluminum, and IMO better than the tapco tri rail system I had. The plastic block that connected to the gas block started to melt.. Guess that's what happens when you shoulder dump fire 5 mags in a row. I love how cheap the ammo is, I get tired of shooting before running out of ammo. =P Anyways, be sure to post pics if you get more stuff!
Wade Pruetz 103
Well it is finally done! Pressed off the FSB and Gas Block replaced both with Bulgarian parts. Cutting the groove for the lower hand guard retainer was a challenge. I went with the Hogue pistol grip, have on one of my S12s and I really like it. Yes I know the M4 buffer tube and Magpul stock isn't true Russian but hey it's my gun and I like the check weld on the Magpul better than any thing else out there. A big thanks to Keith at Tac47, he pulled the 5.45 out of his inventory because I was having a tough time finding one at a price I liked. Then he hooked me up on his Tac47 trigger guard which just dropped right in.
Polak 10
My new FSB and welded on brake. I ground off the bayonet lug (evil) but left the block for the cleaning rod. Edited May 14, 2010 by Polak

-dW 2
now with Krebs rail and 3/4" cheek riser.. ncStar optional for now.. want this... I hope I'm not getting repetitive, but I was pretty jazzed about the krebs rail Edited May 15, 2010 by -dW
rigrat 7
Got my Saiga yesterday and went ahead today and did the pistol grip conversion. Retained the BHO, Tapco G2 FCG, Hogue grip, no-mod mounting block and Ace stock. Edited May 29, 2010 by rigrat

Krom 36
Update, Trijicon tripower w/primary arms cantilever mounted to an ultimak Ace folder and light I really like how I can still use my irons underneath my tripower, I know I could have set it up to cowitness but this protects from heat, and if tripower got fragged or something I still have my irons. Plus the optic sits back more into the center of the weapon. I know my paint is wearing alittle bit, this is my goto gun it's all about function not show.

aagalkin 1
So here is mine (top) and a buddy's build which to me looks like it was built in a Taliban cave. I've only left to add a decent flash hider on mine; waiting on the AKMN FH. And on the right are my girls =). Enjoy. Edited August 21, 2010 by The Russki
