Show me your Chaos mounted rails!

Recommended Posts

I have a lot new people ask, what does a quad or a tri or HK quad look like on this or that setup, and I try and tell them where to go find it, this sucks up alot time for me, but I do it because I love their excitement about this weapon! So I would like comprise a large amount pics with Saigas sporting Chaos rails. The pics don't have to be perfect, I'll start, these are my boys working for saigas, note the clock in the background and the time of this post, they are CGW converted, thanks Tom! The boys love them.

Here's mine.. I actually bought it as the extended quad rail, but I can't make up my mind if I actually want to install the extended top part.. I was all for it, but this look has grown on me..   I

Some of the latest AWESOMENESS from Chaos! You guys hit this one out of the park. The new quadrail for AKs and Saiga rifles. Fits converted or non converted guns with ease and mounts in minutes. Tha

Words and pics do not do this rail justice. These things are awesome. :super:

It's like our guns were seperated at birth. What color is that? Mine's Duracoat Blackhawk Coyote Tan.

I actually got the idea of using the color after I saw your gun. Thanks..

Still have to clearance the upper extensions to work with the previously installed tube, but yes, Cameron's stuff kicks ass and is very user friendly ;)

Wait............what?

A Chaos S12 rail on a Saiga rifle? I assumed they didn't work on Saiga rifles. What did you have to do to get it mounted? Is the "clearance" issue you speak of, only due to the Ultimak tube you have?

<---is going to have to test this out. I might just have to swap my Chaos onto my x39! (I'd be using the factory x39 gas tube, if that matters)

And oh yeah..............

Can I join in this pic-fest, eventhough my Chaos was obtained for free from Cameron's "blemished rail" give-a-way? :super:

I seen that too and was wondering the same thing

Well I just sent him a PM asking how he did it. I sent him a link back to this thread, so hopefully he can just post a quick "how-to" for everyone.

(Or I could not be lazy, go grab my S12, Chaos rail, and x39 and see if it's really obvious what needs to be done to make it fit. :lolol: )

Cameron, feel free to have the mods delete this if it crosses any boundries. This is all I did to use the Chaos Tri Rail on my .223. In a nutshell I made a new, larger interface for the receiver that allows it to bolt up, and a clamp on split collar for the front mounting machine screw. With the hobby equipment I have it wasn't hard, just time consuming. That hole for the interface tab has to be dead nuts perfect and it's a tribute to just what a fine peice of craftsmanship these rails are.

Edit-to say thanks to Cameron and crew again, and nailbomb-mounted pics as of now are a few posts above, it's rock solid. When I have time, it would be better to make the rear mount out of thicker material to fill the void between the receiver and trunion and allow more material to thread in to at the mounting point. Front mount was taken from Dinzag's clamp on idea. It also looks better with the Tri Rail extensions installed, but my play times been very limited for the last month.

  • 1 month later...

Here's my Chaos tri rail installed. The weave textured thing over the gas tube is exhaust header wrap, which works just like a barrel shroud to keep from burning your fingers if the gun gets hot. Just something different I tried a while back, and it works great.

There's also a Fenix TA30 light from the first Mississippi Auto Arms group buy, mounted on a Vltor CK scout mount. It needed a little tape to make it fit snug in the CK size but it's on solid now and works great.

I'm using generic ladder style rail protectors on the sides, and a few Magpul XTM rail covers on the bottom in front of my WECSOG'ed Tapco stubby VFG.

The whole shotgun. If you're wondering why it's not an SBS yet, that's because they're not legal in Alabama.

I really like the Chaos rail. It's extremely sturdy and the picatinny rails are dimensioned perfectly. Some other rails can be a little over or undersized, but the Chaos mates with everything perfectly. Mounts on the shotgun really solid, too.

I think I'm going to move the optic back with a scope mount, but this is how it is for now. I need to drill and tap the block for the side screws, and it's going to get a two tone OD treatment one of these days!

I had to get a pic in here somewhere........

I'm crying right now! The SBS is badass to the bone, but Tom that drum, its like a five year old painting eye brows and beard on the moana lisa.

After a long little 4 month wait, here she is! I've had my share of experience with rails( even modifying a cheap chinese ak version...one word, butter)and this thing is nice. Solid tight fit that was too damn easy to mount(goodness that freefloat on my ar was not fun).EOTech is the XPS series, so it meant to cowitness on an AR. Height is good if you dont have a super solid cheek weld. Thanks Chaos!
