Tonight I was wiping it down and thought I would try one of my Russian plum magazines to see if it would fit. It snapped right in and locked up tight, I then loaded 10 rounds in the magazine and manually cycled the bolt. It worked perfect, Take the top cover and compare the factory magazine and the military mags, I bet it works, will try it this weekend. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Big Boss should have worded his post with 'reliably' instead of 'properly'. Due to the vagaries of manufacturing, this occurs occasionally. Manual cycling is not a good indicator of 'operational functionality', either. With a bullet guide, any milsurp magazine is able to be used 'reliably'. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

It is so close I knew someone was gonna try it, so I did...........feed a few , mangle a few......... ........then after wasting ammo, put the BG in........you know this is how it's gonna work. Because some people are not going to do the homework, and I know I'll be getting people wanting me to fix this under warranty........"My Saiga won't feed with AK 74 mags".........and it's not gonna happen.
