Spartacus 1,619
Cool! I know the slant brake definitely has an effect on the AK. Would be interesting to test the effect on the S12. How does it index to the correct position? (jam nut I assume)

Death_Delirium 7
This may seem like a stupid question but how exactly does that thing attach to your barrel? It looks like your barrel would have to have internal threads, or is there another piece that would allow it to attach via the threads around the barrel? Are there any pics of it mounted on a S12? In the last pic you can see the threads on the inside so im guessing it just screws on like any other muzzle device.

It just screws onto your barrels threading. You lock it however you want it indexed with a set screw. We recommend using Loctite Blue on the set screw. westonsecurity 6
Man, a couple of weeks too late. I ask Gunfixer to fab one up for me, can't wait to see it..

It looked like the threads were on the outside of the brake and I was very confused.

Most right hand people will have at 2 o'clock.
Superhawk138 202
I have always wondered why no one made a slant for the 12. Looks awesome

vegasdom 0
So if you screw it on all the way it will end up side ways? Edited September 11, 2009 by vegasdom
E-TAC 47
So if you screw it on all the way it will end up sideways? No, you have to adjust it the way you and lock it in with the set screw.

shades_of_grey 1,092
That looks pretty cool. I wonder how well this design works to reduce muzzle climb on a shotgun, (I doubt it works as well as it does on a rifle).

I wonder how well this design works to reduce muzzle climb on a shotgun, (I doubt it works as well as it does on a rifle). Is the issue with muzzle brakes and shotguns due to the Saiga bleeding off alot of gas to cycle the BCG??? I don't know what the pressures of a SG are, but you would assume that the shotgun would create more pressure than a rifle round??? Just curious...

crfakm4 0
Does the set screw mess up the threads on the barrel? Why not just use a lock nut to index and keep it tight? Edited September 11, 2009 by crfakm4

No, the gas pressure that a rifle generates is far higher, which is why muzzle brakes make a big difference on rifles and (most) do not on shotguns. E-TAC 47
Does the set screw mess up the threads on the barrel? Why not just use a lock nut to index and keep it tight? No the set screw is offset to locate on the non threaded end of the barrel. That along with a little locktite will keep in place. Does the set screw mess up the threads on the barrel? TheDarkHorse 216
I'd buy one of these faster than a hiccup if it didn't have a setscrew.

It's just one less step for us to do. I will also have a jam nut ready next week.

caal 9
I know it looks cool. But does it work? Also does it need to be canted like on the ak rifle?
