hawaii five-0 0
Opened a fairly new(3 months-15 loadings) AGP magazine this AM to find the spring broken into 11 pieces. Some rust powder as well.AGP will replace the spring, but it does leave an impression. volkov 318
same story here.. exactly.. badly rusted spring shattered after a couple of uses into about 8 pieces.. replaced it with a surefire spring.. won't buy AGP again. (spring was less than a month old straight out of the plastic it came in) Edited November 3, 2009 by volkov
BpS12 512
Oww, that sucks. I would guess a bad temper. Just goes to show, we need to test our gear, repetitively, b4 SHtF.
saigafreake 27
must be over hardened.

HobbyMachinist 6
What would be a good technique for testing for bad springs without ruining good ones?
dae.edorian 12
Same thing happened to me. I emailed AGP and they sent me a new spring with no questions. They said there was a bad run in early 09.
aresv 49
Just speculating, but maybe those bad springs skipped tempering completely. Went straight from hardening to final assembly, put into the mags file hard and bone dry. Not good Good on AGP for replacing your spring, though.
nakamori 0
I had the same thing happen with my AGP Mag. I emailed them, and let them know. They got back to me promptly, and let me know that they had a batch of springs that where over-hardened, which made them brittle and that they would be happy to send me a new spring free of charge. Three days later I received the spring and was back on the range. Great magazine and its nice to know that they stand behind what they sell.
hawaii five-0 0
I received the new spring yesterday. No rust.Time will tell how it works, but AGP seemed eager to take care of it.Also they paid for return shipping of the shattered spring.I'll give it another try...
