chevyman097 2,579
So I got my dps tri rail in today and magpul rail covers(those things are a bitch to put on!) Im not sure how much I like it yet but ill try it out under some shooting conditions. First question it there is a screw in the front, I guess just for a little extra security. Anyone actually use it? I dont really like how it doesnt screw down flush, has a little sticking out.(shown in picture) I dunno maybe im just picky. Second the weight. It seems a little heavy? Im not sure if I like it yet I may go with the surefire in the future. We will see. Others thoughts welcome! picture of screw slightly sticking out. And pics of rail with magpul rail covers. thehopping1 105
I think that screw is for the sling swivel. If you put the swivel on too it will probably be flush. Or just cut it down with a dremel.
Botasky1 3
screw is to attach the original SaigaX39 sling swivel. I actually used it for an extra tight fit of the rail on the barrel for security. It worked nicely and held up tightly, considering without it the rail was a bit loose and wobbly towards the front. Ah ok thanks, Ya i just assumed It was for an extra tight fit. but that makes sense now. Dur and I ment DPH lol totally must have still been asleep hadnt had my caffiene when I typed this. Did you use a bipod with it? I think I might try a bipod/grip type vertical for support while shooting to make up for the weight not thats its that bad, just deff notice it. Although I will prolly get used to it. Edited January 12, 2010 by chevyman097

ChochMachio 1
I have the full length UTG rail on my x39 and it is noticeably heavier than stock. After running around my house playing with it I don't notice anymore. I like the feel of the weight when I shoot compared to the galil or the stock saiga one.
TO THE FLOOR IN A 63 121
The UTG is made in Tiwaan so doesn't count toward 922r compliance.
ChochMachio 1
The UTG is made in Tiwaan so doesn't count toward 922r compliance. Right. But the point wasn't it's compliance. It was that the extra weight is nothing when you get used to it. Mine is still compliant and even has an extra US part.
