YARP 300
Does anyone have any experiance with HOWA? I've never shot one but my buddy has a barreled action in .308WM never used for cheap. any info would be appreciated (other than manufacturers page, already been there). Thanks a ton YARP
elvis christ 451
I have a Howa .308 with the Hogue rubberized stock on it, I love it. Its the first bolt action gun I've owned. Its really accurate, even with the cheap glass on it.
YARP 300
Elvis is that the Heavy Barrel model?
hick 0
The first rifle I ever bought was made by HOWA for S&W at the time, model 1500 in 270 Win. No problem wacking woodchucks at 300 yards. It's 25 years old now but I hear they're still making a good rifle. I have no regrets.
elvis christ 451
Elvis is that the Heavy Barrel model? Yep. I don't really know what else I'd do to the gun, besides a bipod. I'd like to get some nice glass someday, but its not a priority.
usmc_mwroseberry 0
I went with a stevens 200 (AKA savage without accutrigger) because I knew I was going to throw the barrel and stock away. But with the factory stock and barrel I shoot under 1MOA with cheap ammo and the factory bushnell 3-9x40. Got the package at buds for $360.00 delivered. Since then I've got an EGW 20MOA base, Vortex 6-24x50 scope and have a Bell & Carson stock on order. Next is my barrel and I'll have a 1/2MOA gun for under $900 with optic included in that price. Already took it to a long range shoot with the factory parts and was hitting at 500 on a 12"x12" plate all day. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
angryasian 0
Ive done alot of rifle builds, to prove my point, I posted a few remingtons. The howa heavy barrelled action in a Bell and carlson stock is one of the MOST accurate setups Ive worked with. were talking 1/2 groups. the only issue I have is that the groups open up a little faster then Im used to. could be me, or it could be the barrel material. Im curious if anyone else has that problem.
