Only problem would be if someone didn't enter numbers right. Just realized you would also have to search in the 74xx range since you said closest regardless of over/under... I had the same idea but forgot to post, doh! Unless I missed something, you did something wrong if 2077 came up as the number with the biggest window in your results. Here is the info on the gap you chose: 2112 - 2047 = 65 number window, best number to pick = 2081 Here are the three biggest gaps, AKA what my numbers would have been: 8161 - 8013 = 148 number window, best number to pick = about 2653 4104 - 3962 = 142 number window, best number to pick = 4,033 2723 - 2584 = 139 number window, best number to pick = 8,087 Just goes to show ya, it's all about luck. Even if I had used the mathematically best numbers, I still would not have won. As big of pain in the ass as it is, it's not worth it.
