Preventing too long of a trigger pull

Recommended Posts

I recall seeing a pencil eraser glued to the back of a pistol trigger to prevent over travel. The guy found where the trigger broke and basically sanded the eraser down to where he needed it. I've not heard of this for a shotgun nor rifle. Does anybody have other recommendations to prevent pulling the trigger beyond the break point?
