Mide 0
So I should've known that my .30 cal sized rod for my SKS would not fit in the barrel of the 5.45x39. So am I guessing that I should look for a .22 cal one?
nalioth 405
5.45mm = .214"
bigcec1 72
Yes the 5.45 is just below. A .223 so any thing around 20 cal should work
Mide 0
From here it looks like the diameter is: 22 to 26 Caliber = .208" so that should fit ok.
Big Boss 21
Why not use the rod and kit provided with the Saiga? Did you not get one? O_o
Mide 0
I'm not sure what it's made of but carbon fiber would be less abrasive than using the stock rod, kit, and guide.
Donkismash 81
the bore is chromed lined...just try not to fubar the muzzle crown
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
Bore Snake 2 snake throughs, soaked in Break Free CLP, is easily a hundred patches worth of cleaning. It does both abrasive copper brushing and soft cloth brushing after all in one stroke. No need to worry about the muzzle getting damaged either. It's like $15. .22 cal Bore Snake works great in a 5.45. Edited March 21, 2010 by Klassy Kalashnikov
