7.62x39 range videos

Recommended Posts

Since we don't yet have one, I thought we could use a thread in which to post range video of our rifles.

I'll start; here's a couple short clips from the other day. The weather was shit, (you can see the freezing rain falling in the video), but I was determined to get at least some shooting in on my day off :killer:

I'm on the left firing my SGL21, my friend is on the right firing his GP WASR 10/63. Both of us were using Brown Bear JHP. My first shot takes out a jar of pickles.. note how the lid takes off on impact. :D

Another perspective, from downrange:

I doubt 5.45 or 5.56 could take apart a cinder block anywhere near that quickly.. and certainly wouldn't penetrate the block completely on the first shot. :D

Here's a similar set of clips from last week. We didn't have a cameraman for the "shooter cam" here, so the angle is not great:

Thats one of the very nice 20rd Hungarian tanker mags. I'm really pleased with those mags, just gotta file down the nipples like the china mags to make them LRBHO capable.

Thats all i got right now accept some crappy cell phone video.

Planning on the next outing, to get some fruits and milk jugs for fun targets and some apples for the S12.

Good shit, BuzzKillin! :super:

To the rest of ya: we need more video! Submit some! :D

Here are a couple clips from Monday evening:

Filmed this mostly for the muzzle flash. :D In this clip you can also see how well an accurately designed, US-made AK-74 type muzzle brake reduces muzzle climb.

A downrange perspective.

first time at the range with it!

as it says in the description, i took it slow in the beginning because we were having problems telling if i was hitting or missing. we were hearing a noise and seeing the rounds ricochet to the top of the hill...which wasnt happening with the M4 and AR-15's we shot earlier. Afterwords, we decided the different velocity of the rounds was causing a different sound and reaction, and that they were in fact hits.

I thought that was a real movie at first. O_O Really cool, man. I didn't even know you folks in France were even allowed to have these types of weapons, let alone still in semi-automatic form unlike the English. Was that a trigger lock I saw in the beginning? In Greece, you can't own anything in semi-auto and shotguns need to have a block in them that only allows a max load of 3 rounds. Pretty lame stuff.

yes, this is a trigger lock, the law require that for transportation, your gun must be unable to fire.

the law is really easy on gun ownership in France, but you're only allowed to use them in shooting range. and don't even think about using it to save your life, it would be a great mistake. sport use only

Nothing too exciting. Just a first time test firing of the conversion.

Sorry about the lack of light and overall crappy quality. It's winter in NY, what do you want from me? :)

Cool. I need to find a range like that. I'm in NY also.
