MikeD 541
We (MD Arms) have a new gas plug design. It is much better than the one we sold for Nate. It is a lot more consistent and easy to determine the correct settings. It will be consistent in any gun despite the random start locations of the threads in the gas block. It is more less a self cleaning design as well. I have one that we have put well over 2000 rds on and it is keeping itself clean. We tested well over 15 different design to come up with this plug and will show the other designs once we start selling the one we picked. And the best part is we will be selling it for a lot less than $40 now that we are making our own. We will likely list them for $20 each and maybe even less! And it is a superior design. We can do this because we no longer will have to pay a substantial chunk of the sale price towards stocking the part.

GuyFoX 24
Well, like most things I have mixed emotions. I've been trying to add a Gunfixr Gas Plug to my Drum order, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I've only been able to take my S12 out twice for test-firing so far and I'm already dying for a Gas Plug that can be adjusted without tools. I'm assuming the MD plug will be adjustable without tools like the GF plug? It sounds like you have come up with a great design, the self-cleaning feature & low pirce sound great. I'm just hoping it is available SOON, what's the ETA on this plug???

bruh44 4
Any idea on a release date? I was about to get the other one you sell until I saw this.
spanky 4
I would take one, and would like to add it to my existing preorder of my md20 drum. What's the best way to do this and when will they be available? Randy
3ac6ucb 24
Any idea on a release date? I was about to get the other one you sell until I saw this. A release date? I'd be satisfied just to see a photo at this point. How long has it been since Mike posted teasers about this thing?
GuyFoX 24
I would take one, and would like to add it to my existing preorder of my md20 drum. What's the best way to do this and when will they be available? Randy I was wanting the same thing(at first I wanted to add a GF plug to my drum pre-order, then the MD plug once I saw this) and I emailed MD Arms about it. I just got an email from them saying that the plugs will not be available with the drums, but that I would receive an email when they're ready. I just hope the MD plugs, doublestack mags & magwell will be available SOON!
impcmonk 1
Same here. I'm awaiting my drum so can you add one to the order??????

Paulyski 2,227
Question: Manual multi-position or Auto-selecting? It's manual.
GuyFoX 24
impcmonk: I do not work for MD Arms, read my last post again. Diamondback: I know Gunfixr(Nate?) is currently working on an auto-adjusting plug. Mike D(or anyone else that knows): I'm assuming that this plug is hand adjustable like Gunfixr's? You did not specify this in the above description so I just want to confirm it. I'd appreciate it if you would let us know, and of course we're ALL very interested in when this plug will be available(and some pix of it would be really cool too!). diamondback 56
Thanks, Guy, knew about the planned MD auto and am considering it for a future build, but Abomination's specs and exotic-loads require manual-selection, preferably no-tool-required like the existing Gunfixr unit.
GuyFoX 24
Soo... I'd assume that this "superior plug" would be hand adjustable(no-tool-required), but this has yet to be confirmed.
doodi1 23
If its a new design i would love to see it offered with a Nickel Boron coating to make it even easier to clean! I will galdly pay more for such a plug. Maybe make it optional?
KrisFox 69
I pre-ordered a first run drum and finally got it on the 25th of December back in 2008. The first run drums were supposed to come with gas adjusters. My didn't, I'm still waiting.

The first run drums were supposed to come with gas adjusters. My didn't, I'm still waiting. Why dont you finish the story jackass? You contacted us and said you didn't get a plug and ordered on the second run... And we told you only the first run drums came with a free gas plug. And you said, "OK." Later, I found that your order was actually a first run order. And we did in fact send you a plug but you failed to notify us your address on file was no longer good and it was returned to us. I let you know and that we would send you another plug. But considering we was out at the time and haven't restocked... I have told you privately and publicly I would send you one of our new design once we have them in stock... More than once! All your doing is trolling me. Why don't you go attach your chainsaw bayonet to your saiga and stick it up your ass? You blew it, good job! You aren't getting a plug, unless you buy it... You've wasted enough of my time. I considered to just delete your post but figured why not let everyone see what a dummy, douche you really are. Keep talking jackass...

Such great customer service. The bullshit about not having a new address to send the plug to. The UPS store where I had a postal box, sent you back the plug. My forwarding address was Iraq at the time but UPS won't forward international mail. This crook got my plug back and instead of putting my plug on the shelf, looking up my order info and contacting me. He boxes it up and ships it with a different order.

No, I want this prick to provide the product I paid for. I have already documented his refusal to provide a product that was paid for. It is an illegal business practice unless he wants to refund the value of the plug. Edited July 7, 2010 by KrisFox

Maybe I'm missing something here.... Weather the plug was "free" or not, the obligation of the seller was to include it with the purchased drum. By commercial lay calling it "free" means nothing. It may as well be included in the price. It may as well have been for what was paid for first run drums you could have bought 2 drums at current pricing and whatever gas plug you want from whatever vendor you want. IE Buy a new ACR and get 2 P-Mags free. If a mag is missing you call Bushmaster, they will tell you you need to contact the FFL who sold it as all ACRs ship with 2 mags, if there is a problem with the FFL Bushmaster contacts them. Bottom line, if a mag is broken/lost it will get replaced by the distributor or the manufacturer weather or not it was free. As that seller is obligated to provide every part of what is supposed to be included in the package.
