Pam is just trying to stir the s**t up , over here in england we have the government and politicians to do that. i always try to give non shooters and antis a better impression of us shooters , they must not believe the media lies about us. whatever country we are in its allways the same , they always say ban the gun and not sort out society and its problems. i have arranged a shooting day at my gun club for my company as all the staff expressed an interest in comming along to have a go and so i told them to invite their wives too , guess what.........a few wives refused to attend as they were anti gun. when asked why they were anti gun they always quote from the media and not actual fact. in england we had all handguns banned because one man shot up a school and now out government has released the crime figures and handgun crime is up 40% despite legal handguns having been banned by the government. go figure

Every time I hear Assassin's descriptions of England I think of how badly it sucks what their parliment did to their citizens. God forbid there be another school shooting in the us, but if their is, let it be done with home-made weapons or bolt action hunting rifles. Then the press can scare the sh*t out of the public as usual with how the Remington 700 is a "high power rifle" capable of slaughtering the innocent, blah blah blah.

they've already said that ammunition for the hunting rifles is armor peircing, and should be banned on the grounds that it can penetrate body armor

i believe it was several politicians who were trying to get the ammunition banned

i read about it in the www.shotgunworld.com political discussion section. you should go check it out. theres some pretty good debates there, and you dont have to be a member to post

Really? I hadn't heard that. Who said that? I doubt it was politicians, all their laws are about the look of a weapon, not the lethality.

Ol' Teddy (bottle elbow) Kennedy was one of them, I believe!

I think we all should just chip in and buy him enough liquor so that he can drink himself to death.

Either that, or he'll get so wasted that he'll physically end up in bed (as compared to being in bed politically with them already :D) with Dianne Feinstein (and maybe Hillary and Chuckie Schumer?) and be so embarassed he commits suicide with a firearm we conveniently leave for him. :bag:

Of course he just might like that arrangement though.

Hi all

it seems that governments and the media in both our countries are the same in regard to scaring the s**t out of the public when a shooting happens. When we had the Dunblane school shooting in the U.K it was found out that the evil b*****d that commited the crime should never have legally been in pssession of 9mm and .357 handguns as he was a member of a .22 only gun club , this means that the police were at fault to allw him these weapons in the first place not to mention they failed to investigate claims that he threatened people with his handguns in his home on more than one ocasion. But you guessed it , the police/politicians and the media managed to mis-inform the general public into believing that the only way to stop this from happening again was for a total pistol ban (except black powder muzzle loaders and our special long barreled revolvers 24" min length) regardless of a high ranking law lord declaring that our laws were sufficient and had they been applied properly by the police then this crime may never have happened. The first casualties in this were the childeren and teachers who so sadly lost their lives to this evil b*****d , the second casualties were the truth , honesty , clear thinking and rational response. The media frenzy was literally baying for blood from shooters and its primary aim seemed to be to do the utmost dammage to our sport , i sent many emails in to newspapers that had printed false facts about firearms but never once recieved any reply or retractment from the media newspapers in question.

all the best

same thing in France. 2 years ago, a man came in court with a glock and a .57 python, and killed about 9 personns.

he bought his guns legally, but then had troubles in his head (he was making a depression), so according to the law, someone had to control him and take his guns), but nobody acted.

now, all the shooters, who like this sport are penalized. 10 years ago, we could buy in France FAL rifle, ar15, shotguns, and night vision device.

now it is more and more restricted

Sorry allocine that sucks.

It will probably happen everywhere slowly.... some countries may take decades more, some may take only like 5 more years to be very heavily regulated.

It really sucks, because the criminals should be punished, and things should be prevented, instead of blaming all the people who just want to own and use guns without bothering people.
