towerofpower93 22
I'm doing my first stamp for an AR lower and wondering about multiple caliber uppers and bbl length/OAL listings in relation to the form 1. I want to end up with a short 5.56 bbl and a short 9mm bbl. I know the lower is the "stamped" part, but do I need to list any/all caliber uppers which may go on it, or just stick with 5.56 and I'm good to go with putting any caliber upper on it? Any personal experiences with listing multiple calibers and getting kicked back? Also, not sure of the exact length upper I want to put on the lower, should I list a range of bbl and OAL? I've read elsewhere the BATFE was rejecting forms for multiple bbl lengths. Any personal experience with this as well? Thanks Eric
KrisFox 69
List ONLY your primary caliber and barrel length. If you change it to another caliber or barrel length and decide to keep it that way you can send the ATF an "Update letter". In that letter you list the new caliber, barrel length, and serial number. There is no requirement to wait for the ATF to reply, nor will they.
towerofpower93 22
Thanks A friend of mine who's done more than a few form 1s said the same regarding bbl length. He did say that adding "Additional calbers: 9mm, etc." in block 4h has worked for him in the past and they heven't rejected it for that. Any thoughts to this?
