Confused about form 1

Recommended Posts

I live in Florida and my Trust is being done at this time. I have a few questions. On a Form 1 will I need to get my LEO to sign off along with ATF? I thought having a Trust eleminates the need for the Local Sheriff to sign off or approve a Class three weapon? Also where do I get a Form 1 and a form 4? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks for the help.

IIRC, as I understand it, having everything in a Trust negates having to have your CLEO sign off.

On the other hand, depending on your local/state laws/regs, you may be required to jump through their hoops.

I have to check into the Fla laws to see if I have to get the CLEO to sign off. I am slowly grasping these NFA laws. SLOWLY.

you can order the form 1, (F 1 (5320.1) - Application to Make and Register a Firearm) from the ATF distribution center, via on-line. takes less then a week to get to you. you will also need , F 5330.20 - Certificate of Compliance With 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(5) - "citizenship form".

you already paid for the printing and mailing of these forms

form 4s are transfer of NFA items that are already registered. you only need this form if you are going to buy a NFA item
