That's a really nice setup! Our gunsmith (former SEAL armorer, yeah- a stinkin' squid! :lolol: ) is running nearly the same rig. With subsonic rounds, I think you can hear the pin strike the primer! That's just my opinion though- the boys say I'm nuts.

The one thing I noticed was that the recoil seemed greater than a 5.56... You notice that too?

I forgot to mention I’m also running a Slash 9QT buffer (11.5oz) and stronger Wolf Spring. All this is to try and keep the bolt closed for a few more split seconds to help reduce ejection port noise…and no, I have not personally noticed any additional recoil from the 9mm VS 5.56 round.

All the blown back gas looked unpleasant! I think Richard Lage sells a part that helps block some of that from hitting you right in the face.


It doesn't help that he is left handed, which puts his face on the same side as the ejection port.

You're both correct. He's a lefty and that gun has both the internal and external Lage gas blocks. It still makes you cry...both left and right handed.
