I like the old saying, "Better to die on your feet then live on your knees". I CAN die on my feet because I fear the LORD!! Just as a son both loves and fears his dad, I love and fear my HEAVENLY father... I do NOT think 'He is out to GET me.." Thats another thing, I have never feared my dad. And he knows that. BronCobraJet 80 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Share Posted July 26, 2010 I have a new fear to add: Palmetto Bugs That's the name that south has given to GIANT COCKROACHES that are not afraid of you and don't run away like "regular" cock roaches. It sucks even more because it's not like "regular" roaches that thrive in uncleanliness, which is easily avoidable. Palmetto Bugs are just something everyone has to deal with down here. Just keep up on spraying and hope for the best. Saw one the other night on the outside of our sliding-glass-door. Missed him with my first swat, and he dropped to the floor and came right for my feet. I'm pretty sure he was out for blood and was going to attack and try to end my life (even though they don't bite or sting or anything like that). I then did, what my buddy's wife described as "some sort of break-dancing maneuver", with my feet and squashed the little bastard. Other - I fear the day that I have to bury my dogs. And I stand firmly with Bohound. Had to put down one of my dogs may 21. She was 18 3/4 years old. Almost half of my life. It sucks so bad. So Goddam bad. i miss her little "nose" kisses. I miss everything. Sorry to hear that Bron. 18 is good, long life for a dog (even though it never seems long enough once you get real attached). What kind of dog was she? Black Lab -Austraian Shepard mix. She was the runt of the litter, and when I was giving away the pups, no one selected her. So I kept her. She looked like a 1/2 size Black Lab. A guy Jeremy Tichenor, who I was best friends with in school, grades 4-5 ended getting into hard drugs after high school & started doing work like setting fires & burglarizing deadbeats for his meth dealers. He was caught, rightly convicted & was sentenced to penitentiary. From what I understand, he ran up a drug debt in prison & was shanked 5 times trying to fight off 5 Mexi-g's who were trying to rape him. He was a big & capable dude, but shit.... 5 guys is a bitch. This info came from an old friend I ran into a few years back. Others I talked to who had kept in touch with him confirmed the story. I tried to go to his adoptive mom's house to give my condolences, but she has a different last name that I couldn't remember & had moved. I actually shed a few tears latter on that night thinking about the old times on the day I heard about it. He really was a sweet & kind guy most of the time, he just got in too deep.
