sdkmcqueen 0
Will you still need to install a bullet guide to allow it to take non saiga magazines? I watched the video of how to convert the saiga 7.62 to a pistol grip but it didnt say anything about installing a bullet guide. Link to the video: My question is will you need to install a bullet guide after all that work?
paprotective 362
To run 5.45x39 Combloc/Surplus mags RELIABLY... yes.. The 7.62x39 also needs one. Most CONVERSION videos cover the PLATE removal and FCG replacement and NOT the BG installs... just an FYI on that...
-dW 2
I have a saiga in 7.62 and one in 5.45 and they both needed bullet guides to work with non factory (milsurp) magazines. Both rifles would always jam the last round off to the right side of the barrel instead of loading it into the chamber. your mileage may vary of course but I would say if yours feeds good without (and people report theirs do) then I would leave it out, but if you have problems, it's a cheap fix..
