Safety-lever Installation Diffiulty

Hello,

 

I've recently completed the conversion of my Saiga-12, but I can't reinstall the safety-lever. The trouble seems to be that the BHO prevents the installation of the safety-lever. Is there some special technique that has to be used to reinstall it? I've tinkered with it for hours without success.

I ran into the same problem.

 

The solution is to slightly notch the BHO to allow the safety to pass, like this:

I've modded one like this.... works like a charm. As long as you have a good 'eye' you should be able pull it off. Just don't get carried away. While you have it out, it may be a good time to take a little off of the BHO 'button'.

Excellent timing for this thread. just ran into the same problem. did not want to take down again. already lost one bho spring. with alittle patience and a steady hand it can be done in the weapon. dremal is a great tool. worked like a charm. thanks..

ive done several conversions and have not notched a safety lever yet.. just put the safety lever in before the BHO

Unless you are using the flat pin retainer, then it has to go in last.....

Roll the BHO arm up towards the top and front of the receiver...
