kisatu 3
Does anyone know anything about the PSO-1M2 model scope? It came in on an 1994 Tigr. Am i using the correct batteries 1.5v D357/303? Also known as LR44 and many other names. From what i have read on the internet that is the right kind of battery, it said to use two 1.5v D357 stacked to make 3v. An old friend of mine said it may take a 3v photo battery but i have no idea. When i close the battery compartment there is a bit of space so there is no connection. I already checked and cleaned all contacts, and stretched the cap spring out to make sure it was extended fully. I just placed a new 3v red led bulb in it. If i put a ball of aluminum foil in the battery compartment to make the contact, it works but it is geto. Most of all i worry that it may damage the switch or circuit board. Any thoughts, cleaning tips, how to fix anything, storage, any restoring tips? Im open to ideas so long as they do not cause harm or hurt my scope in any way. I am new to Russian optics and scopes. Here are some pics that might help. I have used most of my photo bucket space so the pics are not very large. I can email bigger pics if you think you can help me. kisatu 3
No one here has there two cents to throw in? Not a good sign. It works so its not a huge deal i just know the ball of aluminum foil wont meet mil spec. LOL
BuzzNectar 35
i would imagine that what you have rigged to work will not harm the electronics at all as long as you have the correct voltage required running through it(and sounds like you have already addressed that).personaly i would find a random battery spring(maybe an old cheap flashlight?)and interlace it with the coil on the battery cap.this way it will be much less "getto" and more reliable than a ball of foil.there is my .02 hope it goes well.btw i really like thoes scopes much better than the ones now offered with the current PSL's. kisatu 3
Thanks for your input. Ill try that idea, its a good one. Im sure i have a spring laying around my tool bench. Yes, im told its a 3v system so the two 1.5v D357/303 button cells should equal out. I love this scope, it is by far the best one i have ever gotten my hands on. Well besides the battery issue. westonsecurity 6
Batteries are in the correct way right. I have a Chinese version that is mis-marked, flipped the batts around and all worked fine.
Bladed 1
The two 1.5V batts will give you a longer life than the one 3v you were using.
